Get the Look 001

Ever see a room or space think, "how can I get that?!". Well, now you can! Introducing Clutter's new addition, Get the Look.
Look here for us to show you how to get those beautiful rooms, locally, all the while staying on budget!
Inspiration: This room is unique and clean.
Hanging a rug on the wall is a great way to add texture and depth. After all, rugs are an art form!
Using this traditional sofa with exposed legs is the perfect start to getting this look. Have it recovered with a contemporary pattern and you've just made this piece timeless! ($295)
Using these side tables achieves the mid-century feel of this room. Painting them will help keep this room simple and soothing. ($350 pair)
These lamps ($69 each) are nearly the same as in Elle Decor's room. Changing the shade to white makes them a dead ringer! (We carry all shapes, sizes, and color lampshades!)
For theses items and so much more, visit Clutter at 1100 Eisenhower Drive,  Savannah, GA 31406. Call us at (912) 354-7556 or visit us on Facebook at Clutter Furnishings and Interiors.

Just the Tip: Mixing Patterns

Coordinating fabrics and furnishings doesn't have to be unnerving. You CAN mix patterns with a few simple no-fail rules.
Use patterns that don't fight each other. Even though these two textiles are very busy, they have a calming effect when used together. (Crazy how that works!) The disco, if you will, emerald green fabric is fun and funky while the black & cream traditional pattern is classic and elegant. Together, this pairing is gorgeous and coordinated perfectly.

Using colors and tones that are complimentary on an artistic level is key. Not only does the scale of pillow vs. chair work well, the complimentary colors play a huge role in making this work. The lime green of the floral, classic pattern stands out beautifully against the geometric, modern chevron pattern.

For design advice, visit Clutter at 1100 Eisenhower Drive,  Savannah, GA 31406. Call us at (912) 354-7556 or visit us on Facebook at Clutter Furnishings and Interiors.

Doppelganger 001

Even the best designers need a little inspiration every now and then! While leafing through our trusted Elle Décor, we found a few things (within the first 15 pages!!) that look suspiciously like items we have at Clutter!
Living Room Ideas
This ad for Oly Atelier is stunning. You too can have this look!
Clutter has a set of these gorgeous sofas! They look so much like Quintessentially Oly's sofa seen above and for a fraction of the cost! (Just needs to be recovered to achieve exact look.)

Elle Décor showed off this great look using a Lucite console desk and a beautiful Weber Chair.
YOU can have the look from above using this Weber chair from Clutter! Paired with a white console table/desk (also available at Clutter) you can achieve this look for a mere fraction of the cost shown in the magazine!

Office Solutions

This desk, from the cover, looks just like a few side boards we have recently had at Clutter.

Used as a server is functional, but paired with a high chair or bar chair would transform this everyday server into a fantastic desk!

 Bedroom Room Redo's

This bedroom is great; from the modern art to the beautifully painted twin beds. It's inviting and calm.

Clutter has a set of brass twin beds just like the ones found in Elle Décor. These are perfect the way they are but painted white would give you the look found in the magazine.
For theses items and so much more, visit Clutter at 1100 Eisenhower Drive,  Savannah, GA 31406. Call us at (912) 354-7556 or visit us on Facebook at Clutter Furnishings and Interiors.

Before and After: A Clutter Experience

At Clutter we often have things that are one-of-a-kind pieces but need a little love, or TLC. This chair was no exception.

The paint color is what got everyone's attention, but very few knew how to handle the rest...

With a little help from Clutter's very own Lynn Rahn, this deconstructed chair become a sight for sore eyes! With  new fabric and a great upholsterer, this piece is new again!

Dream Home of the Day: 17 W. McDonough, Savannah, GA

Love this beautiful home on McDonough in Savannah. Partly because it is so close to one of our favorite bars, but mostly because of the awesome bones and huge square footage on a beautiful square. Click on the photos to see even more via Trulia.

Obsessions of the Week: 11AUG13 to 17AUG13

"For the Love of God," by Damien Hirst.
Some things we're obsessed with this week:
  • The Civil Wars new self-titled album which rocks with such southern sophistication that we imagine it's the album Katherine Sandoz has on in her studio while she's making magic canvas or what Leslie Miller is rocking to while creating funky accessories for Fashion Week. "From This Valley" is so beautiful, we'll even forgive The Civil Wars previous collaboration with T. Swift...
  • Shark Week. We know we're not alone here, but we're so obsessed with everything about Discovery Channel's Shark Week right now! Especially with the Voodoo Shark of the Mississippi and previews for Moonshiner's spin-off Tickle starring the hardworking titular character.
  • The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living. Artist, Damien Hirst's most famous/infamous work, The Physical Impossibility is an amazing piece of (certainly debatable) art that captures the spirit and the power of a tiger shark suspended in formaldehyde. Hirst's other work, like the platinum and diamond encrusted 18th Century skull above, is both controversial and incredible...but it's the shark that gets us going! Epic!!
