We had a big, bold, beautiful yellow-orange African Juju Hat (or feather hat) in store a couple of months ago and ever since, we haven't been able to log onto Pinterest within seeing several of this gorgeous, detailed creations on home decor posts. 

We love the texture they bring to a space and the amazing color. The white one, above, is incredible, but our favorite of this lot is the pale pink on the hunter green wall at the bottom of the post. Incredible contrast of colors and such a powerful statement.

If you can't find a Juju Hat of your own (originals are kind of pricy), Design Sponge offered a tutorial on making your own. Or ask The Rest Stop's Katherine Van Tosh who made her own (we Instagram-stalked her).

Some of our favorite rooms of the week from Pinterest featuring some awesome oversized ART for a little Design Inspiration (or Pinspiration as we call it):

Big art makes a big statement in any room. Love how they didn't try to match the sofa to the art (to the side chair to the coffee table...etc.). Coordination is key. Let your pieces communicate with each other and not overpower one another and your home will look perfect.

Bring in some funky colors and textures with art, too! If you keep the walls neutral/light...white here, but go with a gray for a cool modern look...you can add as funky an abstract as you can handle!

Or keep your art neutral and light against a neutral palette for a sophisticated, clean, almost Southern California vibe. LOVE this dining room.

White on white on white NEEDS a pop of color and this room does it perfectly with that massive violet amazingness. Also, digging the Areaware golden pig in the corner!

Love a big photograph for a major wow-moment in a room. It's going to cost a good amount to get a photo this size (quality) framed so make sure you pick an image that you'll want to look at for a while. This room is major!

Some of our favorite rooms of the week from Pinterest for a little Design Inspiration (or Pinspiration as we call it):

Especially in a loft space or in a home with an open floor plan, rooms tend to blend together, but still need to serve their individual purposes. 
     This room does a phenomenal job of both segregating spaces for a dining room and a living room, and also letting them coordinate and speak to each other.  Love the living room and the availability/functionality of the seating arrangement. Super nice. 

Great little vignette that highlights our love affair with mixing fabrics. This classic chair has the most beautiful modern fabric and the leopard print throw pillow just kicks it up a notch.
     Just like when you're getting dressed, if you feel like your room is overcrowded/overdone, it probably is! But if you mix in enough neutrals with a textile-heavy room, you'll probably be just fine.

What an amazing living room! Don't feel like you have to fill your bookshelf, especially if it's massive like this one...throw a huge piece of art to add some flair like they did here, or several small pieces and it breaks up the traditional shelf space. 
     That ottoman is to die for, too! Love that it centers the room, is functional, and colorful yet still neutral...very nice piece.

Love the gray walls and ceiling. Allows you to bring in textures and fun colors in the rug and throw pillows...and that swinging chair...wowza! Talk about a statement piece. 
    We also are loving the art above the catch-all bookshelf; shows you that you can have a kids' space that is still chic and designed to a T. Just keep your kids "stuff" organized and it will start to fit into a space and accent it the same as an accessory / art!
