Go Green: Art (3)

We're a little obsessed with art, and, hey, that's a pretty healthy obsession, we'd say.  But, we're also obsessed with this little thing called, Planet Earth.  This piece of art is sewn-together scraps from various home decor projects, framed and hung elegantly on our gallery wall.  It adds a great textural piece to our home, AND it was born of recycled materials (including the canvas' stretching bars!).

Don't think you can't make beautiful art? Everyone has some artistic flair, and if you're having fun making it, who cares what it looks like in the end as long as you love it!

Go Green: Art (2)

This beautiful piece of recycled art is not only green, but an awesome look (and made by my hubby!). The way the light reflects off the bottle caps at night is such a cool effect and there are over 1500 (!) caps.  He's making more (maybe one for Clutter) and I just love them (and him).

Go Green: Art

First off, Happy Earth Day! Hope you are busy planting trees, walking to work, and reading old blog posts (that's kinda green).  We're showing off super green and local artist, Charles Scarborough, whose upcycled and recycled pieces of art are not only earth-conscious, but look stunning.  His beautiful "Seahorse" above is made of a hubcap, a gorgeous silver pot and other trash-turned-treasures.  And check out his "Crab" below which is part guitar body and all awesome!

This photo is even green; recycled from the beautiful You're Welcome Savannah: Open House 011 by Cedric Smith and Autumn VanGunten.  Check out the full post (and their other stunning shoots) HERE.

Hope y'all have a great Earth Day.  We only have one, so let's all remember to take care of her!
