Get the Look 005

For this "Get the Look" we've chosen a desk area which is bright yet warm with its touches of dark wood and decadent textiles. You can get this look from your local boutique consignment store, Clutter, for a fraction of the designer cost. Using things found at Clutter, a coat of grey paint (we like Thunder by BM) and white sheers on the windows, this look can be yours in no time!  



Inspiration

This beautiful armoire is perfect for the far right corner of this room. It's warm tone helps anchor the room and adds elegance.

The desk in our inspiration photo is a white parsons table; just like this one. When you want to change the look up from desk, this table is a perfect breakfast table.

AND

The cow hide underneath the parsons table is perfect to get this look, too! It adds warmth and texture.

Although this chair isn't a King Louis chair, we think this chair would be beautiful with the white parsons table and a great addition.

This lamp is amazing! With a grey shade it is a great addition to our look and goes very nicely with our warm tones.

This bedroom is peaceful and masculine yet polished. Keeping the soft, off white linens and using furniture and accessories from Clutter, this space can be recreated on a budget!

 

Inspiration

Cow hides add great depth and texture! ($250 - $400)

By turning this Tibetan window horizontal, a one-of-a-kind headboard is created. ($649)

This table would be F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S in our inspiration room used as a writing desk holding beautiful table books and prized knick-knacks. ($995)

These brass sconces work beautifully for beside either side of the bed in our bedroom. ($249)

This table is a great bedside table and makes a great statement in our bedroom. Greenery, books, and a Rewind candle would be amazing on this gate leg table from Clutter. ($249)

This ostrich egg Stifle lamp is beautiful and rounds off our room nicely.

This room evokes elegance but with a casualness that is inviting and calming. We love the airiness and lightness and of course the emerald green! Clutter has all you need and more to get this look!

Starting with the couch, the white slipcover provides functionality as you can wash as it wears.  

The star burst above the couch is dramatic and perfect!

 

 Recovering this wing back chair in a classic pattern but updated emerald green (or lime and yellow) makes it custom and new again.

We opted for white lamps and using green shades instead of the reverse to add a more coastal look. (Remember, Clutter carries shades of all sizes, shapes, colors and textures!)

 

 Clutter has a pair of these side tables and we think painted white would be a great addition to get the look!

 

 The coffee table is essential to the room. It should be functional and beautiful. Incorporating coral and coffee table books adds character.

 Covered in a coordinating, but different fabric than the wing back chair, will achieve the inspirational look from above. Don't be afraid of mixing patterns!

These are not exactly like the inspiration, however, together these twin headboards make a king. It's dramatic enough, it would work perfectly in this bedroom. ($249 each)

 

 

This very modern couch is perfect for this look! If you use the headboards above, reupholstering this couch isn't necessary.

 

Using this Moroccan pendant above the bed would be gorgeous! The metal and stained glass give the room drama and texture.

 

 



 Changing the shades to dark grey drum shades makes these lamps perfect!

Inspiration: This room is unique and clean.

 

Hanging a rug on the wall is a great way to add texture and depth. After all, rugs are an art form!

 

Using this traditional sofa with exposed legs is the perfect start to getting this look. Have it recovered with a contemporary pattern and you've just made this piece timeless! ($295)

 

Using these side tables achieves the mid-century feel of this room. Painting them will help keep this room simple and soothing. ($350 pair)
